What if . . .
An international footwear and apparel company wanted to create an engaging holiday retail experience for shoppers?
Unwrapping gifts is a quintessential part of the holidays. On some level, it might seem counterintuitive to intentionally put a barrier between a product and its recipient, but research has shown that unboxing a product improves attitudes toward that product. And as any kid will tell you, unwrapping presents is fun.
PUMA asked EWI to create a holiday-themed experience for customers at the brand’s flagship NYC store — and we took the idea of “unboxing” and ran with it.< A ribbon and large bow hung from the ceiling. A framed image of an athlete ripping through gift wrap was crafted over a couch where a holiday selfie station encouraged shoppers to spread PUMA-themed holiday cheer. We created an interactive scavenger hunt that allowed customers to win PUMA gear and other prizes by finding hidden QR codes placed around the store. (Everyone knows that part of the fun of gifts is that you have to work for them a little bit.)
From concept to fabrication, EWI handled every part of the PUMA flagship in-store experience. Leveraging our in-house team of expert builders, we completed the entire project in just six weeks to get the store ready for the Holiday season.
