What if . . .
TV news sets were designed to feature their biggest asset—the talent?
In collaboration with Jim Hough, WDIV Detroit Local 4's Design Director, EWI introduced a clean, contemporary news set with large monitors that wrap around more than half of the news studio. The new studio-in-the-round design gave the Local 4 news cast the opportunity the flexibility to create various themes within the vignettes while still maintaining a clean, branded environment for their news anchors. WDIV Detroit Local 4 is the #1 newscast at 4:00p.m., 5:00p.m., 6:00p.m., and 11:00p.m. in the Detroit television market.
The new studio features an 80-inch interactive touchscreen system, an innovative tool that helps bring news stories to life. A 17-foot long, high resolution monitor wall also provides multiple opportunities for impactful storytelling. The studio also features a multipurpose interview set and several flexible areas in the studio to use for daily and weekend news programming.
"This set allows us to showcase our people in a beautiful environment. Our new studio set allows our team to modify the space for so many different production needs."
